"The graduate programme has given me the opportunity to gain experience working across various disciplines, which has been fantastic for my development at ISG."

I saw ISG at a careers fair and learnt about the placement scheme, along with the number of projects ISG delivers. In my third year of University, I joined the industrial placement scheme where I specialised in construction management. And I didn’t hesitate when I was offered a position on ISG’ graduate programme.

The graduate programme has given me the opportunity to gain experience working across various disciplines, which has been fantastic for my development at ISG. I’ve worked with the commercial team learning about sub-contractor management, and spent time at ISG’s Head Office in London working with work-winning where I saw a project go from tender launch to post-tender review. I’m currently on the building services rotation, where I’m learning about electrical, mechanical, fire and security elements on a project.

My favourite moment of the programme so far was finding out that I was working on a project at London’s O2 Arena. It’s one of the most famous entertainment venues and I’m proud to say I’ve been involved in its development. My day changes every day, and can range from attending meetings, managing sub-contractors, monitoring installation on sit and planning for upcoming works.

For graduates looking for on-the-job training that equips you with the right tools and knowledge to succeed in the construction industry, then ISG’s graduate programme is the right choice. I’ve gained technical knowledge and I’ve attended several graduate workshops, all of which has been great fun and benefited me in my day-to-day responsibilities.
