As part of ISG’s continuous commitment to uphold our corporate values to ‘always care’ and ‘never stop learning’, the business in Singapore recently invited Dr Sean from Academiclinic to provide a short brief and demonstration on Cardiac-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
A fast-growing integrated and comprehensive healthcare solutions provider, Academiclinic has been a partner of ISG in delivering first aid training for selected first aiders within the Singapore business.
During the session held in the office, Dr Sean explained to the attendees what should be done when facing a situation where a person experiences cardiac arrest, highlighting the importance of acting with urgency, and providing the casualty with CPR and early defibrillation to increase the chances of survival.
Beyond providing theoretical facts and information, he also gave willing participants the opportunity to carry out the emergency procedures on a CPR mannequin, which tracks the performance and provides real-time feedback to the person administering the emergency response.
The session ties in with our ‘Choose safe. Choose health’ programme, which aims to put health and safety front of mind for every one of us, every single day, and to harness the collective power of our everyday choices, for the benefit of the people in our workplaces, in our homes and in our communities. The talk and demonstration, while brief, raised awareness and instilled the knowledge among attendees that making a choice to respond immediately in these situations ultimately determines whether a cardiac arrest casualty is able to survive.
